£300 a day I am saying is a lower rate then I quote... not sure which field Bolshie is in but I was just hypothesising.... just brings back some reality. We weren't going for the same role - I doubt it.

Without knowing what skillset he has, though, you don't know that he is undercutting you. He's undercutting me, but I'd wager we have very different skills.

IIRC, OwlHoot was undercut by someone when he was offering £250 (or £210?) for PHP work.

Nah, not undercutting anyone. Im based in the north west and 300 a day is top end for my skillset.

I might get 400 - 450 a day if I worked in London but that's just somewhere I dont want to work.

And to be honest, I was beginning to think I was pricing myself out of the market asking for my last rate!
