£300 a day I am saying is a lower rate then I quote... not sure which field Bolshie is in but I was just hypothesising.... just brings back some reality. We weren't going for the same role - I doubt it.
And yet in another thread you say you're having trouble getting interviews? A reality check may be in order??
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson
Nah, not undercutting anyone. Im based in the north west and 300 a day is top end for my skillset.
I might get 400 - 450 a day if I worked in London but that's just somewhere I dont want to work.
£300/day is generally very good for the north west.
£450/day may be 'average' for London but that's possibly for a bank and they like daily rates so they can squeeze 10 hour days out of the mugs. On top of the 1 or 2 hour commute each way.
I'd rather work outside London (for various reasons) and take a lower rate knowing I'm at home with my feet up by 6pm.
You only need to spend a few minutes on the job boards to see what rates are on offer. £300 a day for anywhere outside London, let alone "up North", is really OK in this market. e.g. there are many support/migration contracts paying far far less than this. Well done Bolshie!
