Make sure the right people are looking at it and have the info they need, then lie back and relax knowing all will be well when I get back to work instead of a pile of poo waiting for meOriginally posted by Gonzo View PostWhat would you do if you found out that the tulip had hit the fan?

I just don't get this at all.
I've worked with people like that before, and it's as if the world revolves around them - they really think people can't get issues fixed without them??
The worst part is they don't get any thanks for it, and worse, are generally ridiculed by everyone for it.Comment

WHS, virtually no-one is indispensible, especially in our game, simply their own vanity and need to feel useful. I have seen places adapt in a very short time to virtually anyone going. These people are usually the ones warning things will be catastrophic as they are shown the door and that everyone will be up in arms if they go, they won't remember your name/face 2 weeks later (ref: the office as D Brent is sacked) and are generally breathing a sigh of relief. There is a quality film with Jack Nicholson retiring, the office is being really nice and he is offering to come in and help if they get stuck, showing them all his records etc. He goes back to see if they are getting on ok, no-one has time to chat and every file he had is already piled up next to the bin outside, he realises the truth.Comment

I'll also add that if there are issues to be dealt with when I get back, then I'd rather it takes 2 days of company time than 1 hour of my holiday time.Comment
