Won't hear for definite till Friday, but i'm not holding my breath, in the meantime, the applications go on....
    Good luck on that one.

I've got an interview next week which I'm finding it hard not to get all flustered about, top rate and close to home at a client site I've always wanted to work at.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

ah, thanks - ofcourse I'll add it to the list. I've contacted the Job Centre and been told they'll issue a rail warrant for me for the journey to the interview next week... not sure if I'll drive as its 25p a mile and I know parking would be expensive.

Today so far has been a day where I've contacted my old network ... see'ing if they could put the feelers out.

Good luck to those waiting on a decision! On with ringing the agents not to before a bit of lunch.

I know its tough when you don't have the luxury of time but you'll just have to bite the bullet and do evening classes.
I'll see if I can find an evening class but they're at a premium as well. If I could just grasp the basics I am sure I could save a small fortune in the house and with extended family! i.e. got a toilet which needs fitting and been quote £90 for an hours work.

Mr Helpful. One quick question. You finished contracting in December you said and had contracted for 3 years.

What was the process and issues you had for claiming JSA?

I filled in the form online and they called me in for an interview within 2 days. I stopped my salary and bobs your uncle as they say I get £65 from the state. I am however actively looking for work... its so easy to claim - I found it not a bad experience esp as they pay for travel too! not to forget possibly training (I need to ask) and maybe some work attire (not asked yet)

I never claimed for travel for interviews - if it was a permie role I applied for then I footed the bill, otherwise I kept a mileage log and that will be sorted out by my Ltd @ 40p mile

So who reimbursed you for travel when you went for contracting roles... if you can get the benefit - why not claim it? If you won't - others will

                  Another interview secured!

Different client, again in financials. Things are looking up. Result of last interview expected next week too.

Well done! - Whats your secret Bolshie?! How long you typically spending looking for roles / ringing agents... I spend about 1-2hrs a day and then plan B and me time.

Spoke to an agent today - filled in a cover sheet for a prospective client but he couldn't discuss projects as under NDA. Sounded promising though... let see.

I just wish I had finance or insurance skills... appears agents are crying out for them! I just have telecoms and pharma and big 4 consultancy - typical!
