    How many is too many?

Is it possible to apply for too many jobs?

I'm in a position, where I'll work anywhere...

So quite a few jobs drop into my mailbox which I just add to a jobserve basket and apply for them all.

2-3 weeks ago, I was getting plenty of calls... but nothing coming off. More recently I've had hardly any calls.

Am I maybe applying for too many?

If the market is thin, I'll apply for every job that matches my skillset - whether I like it or not.

If the market is flooded with loads of jobs that match my skillset, I'll be a bit picker, just choosing the ones that interest me.

They all have to match my skillset though.

(At the moment - there's nothing out there...)

No amount is "too many" but if you are getting zero call back's maybe not applying for suitable jobs or you are at level/skill set that is "flooded" with candidates who are better (at least on paper)

And your CV is probably a bit iffy too...

Is this supposed to be a serious question? Am I applying for too many jobs? What are you going to do if we all said yes you are now stop doing it?

The only thing I can say to this is Quality >>>>>>>> Quantity

If you are applying to every single random job in the hope you might get something then you are wasting your own time as well as the agent. They only bad that can really come of it is that he gets to know your name and he starts binning you before even opening your mail as you are a know chancer.

I have to make the assumption your not stupid enough to be applying to everything when you haven't a hope in hell of getting it..... wouldn't be the best assumption I have made in a while though

Apply for less but put more time in to the ones you can actually do. There are 100's or people applying for each job on there with in the first hour (I kid you not). If your CV doesn't look like you can do the job and have been doing it for years then just don't waste your time.

If you have had hardly any calls recently, maybe you are not applying for enough jobs ? Until you have signed on the dotted line, you can never apply for too many jobs.
