How long have you been out of contract?
approaching 2 months. took a 2 week hols in the middle of it

What area of IT do you work in?
    Senior PM/Senior BA

How are you finding the market at present?
Quiet, I have had a few calls with agents either they are looking to fill a permie role at too low a salary or they say they will look at current vacancies and get back to me when there is a match - haven't heard back from them yet. I do hope it picks up soon - is there a knack on getting agents to call back?! I keep getting told my CV is up to scratch but I have failed to get any feedback from the 7 posts I have applied for!

Boom times here in Oz. It's like being back in 1998.

If you can get a visa...

        7 posts?

I applied for about 300-400 contracts last year with hardly any feedback, even though I only applied for jobs that matched my skills. Just seemed normal for me. And as most people on here will tell you, the "feedback" is usually complete rubbish anyway, so why even bother worrying about it...

Is it really !? I've had the odd look on tinternet and there seemed some jobs but certainly not booming, and the rates were ropey. I don't need a visa.

Good grief - what a depressing thread.
I'm on the bench from Monday & haven't started looking in earnest yet but the thought of 2, 7, 18 months scares the crap out of me. I have no idea what I'll do if I can't find anything for those time periods.

                How long out of contract?

                3 months.

What area of IT do you work in?

                ITIL

How are you finding the market?

Jobserve has picked up from 0 jobs per day (for weeks) that match my skills to 1 or 2 every other day at the moment.

It seems to be all happening in the background. I have 3 different contacts trying to firm up requirements from 3 different clients. The first one that does can have me (though one doesn't have a great rate, so if they turn up first, I may put them on hold till next week...)

None of which came out of a Jobserve application...

Quite a few leads that fizzle out, a few interviews, decent feedback, then faffing about and they fizzle out. A definate increase in calls over the last week or 2.

I'd say pretty buoyant in Scotland at the mo.

Pretty quiet in January, but seems to have come alive in the last couple of weeks (I'm looking generally in Scotland). Had a couple of very encouraging interviews (judging by agent's feedback), just waiting for one to bite!
Update: just been offered a 12 month contract at a very reasonable rate (for Scotland). Boom!
