I have no problem giving him a copy of my CV.

He isn't going to get any leads from it. If any of the 10 clients on my CV were recruiting, I'd be working right now. 6 of them have closed down completely

    Not a great cv then!

Agents killed contracting in the UK.

WHS. Plus gullible clients thinking offshore delivers the same quality for less cost.

As on no occasion was I working for the company when it when down, I don't see what difference it makes (unless I'm asked about references, which happens about as frequently as a total eclipse seen from England).

Which means I end up without any referees because they are too cheesed off with all the cold calling. I only have a few referees, there are hundreds of thousands of agents. Also those looking for work might apply for 20 jobs to get one, can the referee really be expected to answer 20 sets of references just to get one role?

I think the agencies need a way to fix this. And it should certainly involve me receiving a signed non-exploitation agreement.
            CalmEddie, I hear you.

When I have to reference I ensure the contractor arranges the appointment with the referee on my behalf. There will be a bona fide reason for me to reference, and it won't be to tout for business.

Fortunately I don't need to reference often in my line of work.

I've given my CV out quite a few times this month, I don't see sending it out to DA to be so different...

                @IBM Agent.

Just what line of business do you sell in to ?
'IBM' is a huge product set. Just like 'Oracle'.

So, has dodgey come back with any general comments on people's cv's he has reviewed?

                    Yep.

                    I need a sharper font.

(I did a major rewrite before I sent it to him though).

I changed it to Arial, btw...

Arial, yes, same font as I always use.

Is that the best he came up with though!?
