    The agency tricks continue......

Just had an email from an agent with the following text in:

Please just find five minutes to drop me answers to the following questions over the Christmas break.

    - What is your current availability (notice period or immediately available)
    - Who have you interviewed with in the last four weeks and for what positions? (This helps avoid us briefing you on jobs you have already been submitted for if we have roles at same company)
    - Which managers did you meet on these interviews – name and title? (Other managers that we know in that business may be hiring who we can approach for you)

I am sure we is a well meaning individual!!

    Suggestions for replies anyone?! :-)

Not so much fishing as a full blown trawler

Do what I do: make up some names and assign them to well-known companies you've never worked for. It's your duty to keep those agents busy.

EDIT: OK, there could be a bit of fun in this. Let me get you started on a reply:

        BT. Manager: Tom Bell.
        Findus foods. Manager: Alex Fish.
        Saab. Manager: Dan Bust.
        Woolworths. Manager: Sarah Goner.
        Etc.

I did that with less obvious companies and names.

The agent realised the next day and phoned me back 4 times quoting back the names and companies to me.

I was going to be rude but was on a packed train so couldn't.........

How about you just ask what they are selling and what they have that is of value to you. When they say nothing, you can end the call.....

I had an agency call. "What's your availability, are you still with X".

              yes.

              "When does your contract end?"

              it's open ended.

              "Oh, ok. Click".

                Check this one out:

You may remember receiving emails from us in the past requesting a copy of your latest CV.

We told you about how lucky we are to have clients coming to us with their vacancies every day - even in these challenging times - many of which are on an exclusive basis, but that we don’t always have the right candidates to fill them. This is often due to us holding out-of-date (by that we mean over 6 months old) CVs for many of our candidates, which we are then less likely to take into consideration.

It's the usual bulltulip, but it's just a trawl for CV's, not exactly fishing...

Yep, I got the exact same one! ...And about another 5 similar ones from other "trawlers" since the start of the New Year year.
