You may remember receiving emails from us in the past requesting a copy of your latest CV.

We told you about how lucky we are to have clients coming to us with their vacancies every day - even in these challenging times - many of which are on an exclusive basis, but that we don’t always have the right candidates to fill them. This is often due to us holding out-of-date (by that we mean over 6 months old) CVs for many of our candidates, which we are then less likely to take into consideration.
Yep, I got the exact same one! ...And about another 5 similar ones from other "trawlers" since the start of the New Year year.

It's the usual bulltulip, but it's just a trawl for CV's, not exactly fishing...

I had an agency call. "What's your availability, are you still with X".

    yes.

    "When does your contract end?"

    it's open ended.

    "Oh, ok. Click".

How about you just ask what they are selling and what they have that is of value to you. When they say nothing, you can end the call.....

Do what I do: make up some names and assign them to well-known companies you've never worked for. It's your duty to keep those agents busy.

EDIT: OK, there could be a bit of fun in this. Let me get you started on a reply:

    BT. Manager: Tom Bell.
    Findus foods. Manager: Alex Fish.
    Saab. Manager: Dan Bust.
    Woolworths. Manager: Sarah Goner.
    Etc.
