    Rating recruitment agencies

Can we make a list of good and bad agencies here?

From the recent threads, a lot of us having bad experience with agents. In other forums also (eg. Linkedin) I am seeing rant over agents.

So far I have not come accross any sites (please correct me if I am wrong) which rates agencies by job seekers.

It will be also good if we can list who are preferred suppliers for well know organizations.

Been suggested before. Legally its a minefield I would imagine. That and there is no way to validate any of the opinions.

I would keep well away tbh.

If you do a search on opinions on Umbrella companies for example you will see how this does not work in reality.

The reviews on that site are quite good.

That site is American, isn't it?

You might not see it for much longer...

I read all the Murdoch titles online, on the vague hope that they will get sued for libel and go bust.

          Fingers crossed.

Yes, but the point that the Times article linked to by cojak was that there are things that can be published in America under their right to free speech, that would count as libellous in this country.

As a result, some American publishers are considering blocking content to UK users to reduce the risk of being sued.

Personally I think it's a sh*t idea anyway. Someone might have set too with one agency and whinge about it on here where as 100's of others might be happy with them.

What good is this going to do but just create a slanging match of personal issues IMHO

The GULP (German equivalent to Jobserve) actually has something like this. the have a section called the Weise List where you can rate agencies for various different subjects, but its not open to all, just subscribers and it does actually provide a good overview of various agencies and what their good points are.
