Someone might have set too with one agency and whinge about it on here where as 100's of others might be happy with them.
That's the whole purpose of rating - isn't it? If 99% people rate them good and 1% rate them bad, everyone knows how good they are.

We have similar rating at sites like ciao.co.uk, trustedreviews.com etc. for various products and services. Why not have the same for recruitment?

Well this site doesn't rate agencies, but it does rate companies by their employees, so could be interesting reading.

        No and yes.

        HTH

PS what about the bad agencies with the solitary good agent? Or the sort-of-OK-agencies with the occasional utter tulipe?

Just assume they are all lying, thieving toe-rags and you won't go far wrong.

We would go fruit loop if agents published a public list of contractors and their ratings. Just can't happen.

Knowing agents is something you just have to learn from experience.

Didn't this happen in the building trade recently and all got messy?

But we have a totally different type of relationship with agencies compared to buying goods. The comments around assuming a pimp is lying if his lips are moving is a fine example. As is mentioned already you might have a great agency and one bad agent you someone has a person issue with, your post will not be a fair representation. You will say again this is the idea of ratings to weed out the bad eggs but you simply cannot go naming and slanging off indivdual people. That is just not right on any forum. Enough of these and the whole quality of the service hits the floor. GIGO.

What a complete waste of time a rating system for agencies would be.

I concur with this rating: all agents are poo

                    Wouldn't mean much.

You happening to stumble across a decent agent doesn't mean the agency is decent, and vice versa.
