    SC & Bench period mismatch....!!

    Guys,

I am planning to get in to SC vetting process for a perm role. Waiting for the last hurdle in selection process..Issue i have is the difference between experience in shown in CV & "actual" experience. I filled 6 months gap in my previous job with experience to reduce the bench period.

How this is going to affect my SC vetting..? Will they check my tax records for the bench period..? Will HMRC get involved in SC process..? What type of checks involve in SC..? Or there will be just reference check, CRB...only.??

Did any one faced similar troubles ie mismatch between actual & experience in CV..??

I wouldn't worry, AFAIK they only go into financials with DV and even then you provide the records for them to look at.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Ok..thats better..My worry was two fold..Not just loosing this role, but if HMRC ask me to pay tax for 6 months which I claimed to be working in my CV..!

Apart from giving names of people whom you trust any thing else need to be careful..? I donot have any criminal records & never involved in any nasty activities..

Any one in CUK forum failed in SC vetting..? If so for what was the reason..?

If anyone has failed, they won't know the reason. It's not something to discuss in the wild anyway.

The whole test is two questions: "Can you be blackmailed?". and "Does this guy tell the truth?". Adjusting a CV is merely sharp salemanship. I know people with SC who have fairly serious crimes in their history who have been honest about them so no problem. Equally I've known people "not mention" a trivial criminal offence like possession and wonder why they failed SC.
        Blog? What blog...?

The DVA will ask you for complete work history, and they will check it (don't know how).

So i would be very open and honest with them, otherwise they will see you are lying and you won't get cleared. Your employer shouldn't be reading the form that is sent to the DVA as it will have financial and medical information on it.

Also be very open and honest about your finances, medical stuff, everything really, again if your found to be dishonest they won't clear you.

You mean you lied on your CV? You should be more worried your employer picks up on this and he walks you out for lying on your CV in my opinion.

I have, friend of mine did what you did and got walked out when the financial company he was working for noticed diff when he was going through financial checks. Not many people take kindly to you lying on your CV. If you can't be honest on that you can't be trusted with their sensitive data

You don't have a 'mismatch' you lie. That's the top and tale, a bare faced lie which will get you in trouble.

Maybe I am being a bit overly pedantic and many people have 'mis-matches' but that is only because they got away with it. Not the way I want to feel every day I walk in to work.

Ok..If information to DVA is not shared to client then it will be fine.

"be very open and honest about your finances" what information they will be looking on finances..?

If I work through "My Ltd company" contracted to "Agency" working for "Consultancy" working for "End Client" & working at end client location, who's is my employer for DVA purpose..???
ie Who's name I have to give to DVA..?

You`ll be alright, just don`t lie on the forms.
For some types of SC, think they do go into your financials BTW.

Good luck with the permie role!.... you poor sod

The forms tell you if youshould list traffic convictions
