    A dole cheque for Xmas?

Current contract expires in Nov. Just been offered an extension till Dec 4th.

    Do I
    1. look for something else ?
    2. Up my rate to cover the downtime ?
    3. or be grateful and accept ?

Are you enjoying the work? Do you think that you will get into a new contract soon? Do you need the money?

Only after answering those three can you really know what the best choice to take is.

Thank god for TheFaQQer giving sensible factual answers to stupid f***ing questions most other people will just take the piss out of.

How the hell are we supposed to make a sensible sugestion based on all the facts and the situation from a 4 line question. All the people that actually post a suggestion will just be doing it on pure guess work so will be worthless to you.

Personally I would take option 4.

        4. Decline on principle that they will be ruining your xmas and walk with your head held high.

Only one thing worse than some of these types of questions.... when they answer it themselves one post later

I'm lost...you've been offered an extension and you don't want to be out of work. Is it not a no-brainer??

Perhaps you should've thought of this before posting as it seems to answer the question?

All of the above of course!! nothing stopping you from accepting the extension, negotiating a higher rate, and in the same time look for something else!!
