Why would they lie? If the client wants only cleared applicants then they aren't going to waste their time and slots submitting a non-cleared CV. If on the other hand the client were to say he prefers SC but will clear an individual who is an otherwise ideal match then they would submit that surely?

All said and done they want to make money so they will submit whoever they think is most likely to get the gig.

From what I have seen I don't think the end client suffers from to much inconvenience when putting someone through the clearance. It's just a case of waiting.

          Doesn't it cost though?

It costs, but those costs have to be budgetted for in the original cost justification. Similarly, prime contractors have to reserve funds to manage uncleared personnel. So it's not a money issue, unless of course you would rather not spend the money by not taking on uncleared people...

I`ve said it once and I`ll say it again, Security Clearance can be more hassle than it`s worth I`ve heard.

Generally, DV tends to increase your daily rate a good amount. So personally I'd love to go through the "hassle" of getting cleared.... It's only a few forms and an interview... doesnt seem like a lot of hassle to me

A few forms, an interview, an in-depth credit check, a look thorugh your personal finances, an in-depth check on you past political history, an in-depth check on your crimonal record (real or imaginary), formal interviews of friends and family, informal interviews wiht past employees and colleagues, a check on all your trips outside the UK ....

Yeah, trivial. Can't see what the fuss is about.
