yeah, it's getting trickier and trickier to take time off for the old boat run from Bolivia in between contracts. Like it's any business of the banks what I do in between contracts...

I got the vwetting document through. They want to contact every employer for the last 5 years. Manager, HR contact and Agency.

THey will also do full credit and crimnal check and want to see passport stamps for my time off travelling 4 years ago!!! Crazy.

Just give them the documentation. Make it up if you have to, and 'lose' some roles you did if they can't be verified. Also start looking for a new contract!

It's a good thing that I'm no longer in this game; I'd never pass these tests.

What on Earth are they trying to find? Are there really that many miscreants with intentions to bring to the world to an end? Does Bob Shawadiwadi and his pals get the same grief?
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Can't "lose" any roles as the client have already gone through my CV with a fine toothcomb listing all dates for each client/employer on my CV, and prodcued a table of dates and asked for clarification from me on exactly what I was doing in the gaps, which they were fine with.

Surely as a contractor you've been working for YourCo Ltd all this time and you have the pay slips to prove it and a letter from the Co. Secretary confirming it...

Ok, no, I can't say that with a straight face

So if a previous 'employer' doesn't reply, then you don't get the gig?

Are you already working on site? Will they kick you out if they can't fill in all the gaps?!

Just put the agents down as the contact for all of the roles you had. If there was no agent involved, you will need to advise of the direct contact at the co. If you dont remember, it doesnt really matter, just leave it blank. If you have worked on sites that require security clearance, dont put the names of the contacts down as it will breach the NDA you have signed. I have a high level of government clearance and i still had to go through all of these checks to work at Barclays for a while. It's a hassle and the firms doing the checks havent got a clue and like to lose paperwork but its a requirement of most if not all banks these day unfortunately.
