Firstly, we want to get you a job at market rate. 15% may sound a lot, but if you accept a low paying contract the money in your pocket is a lot less.
Secondly, the 15% is only for the first 65 days of your contract after which it drops. Just 5% if you want to use our umbrella company only.
The point of using BITE is that you get contracts at the right rate, for subsequent contracts we asses your skills, new work experience and advise you on your new rate. This sort of service helps contractors develop their careers. You also don’t pay any fees untill you get a contract. We won’t invite you for an interview if we don’t think we can help.
EDIT: please see previous comments.

Here are some questions you can get your teeth into...
1) Why would I accept a low paying contract in the first place? You want us to get a job at market rate because 15% of £500 is more than 15% of £300.
2) Why do I need BITE to get me contracts at the right rate? I can do that for myself, thanks very much.
3) Why would I need someone else to assess my skills (and pay for the 'privilege' as well)
4) Why would I need you to advise me on my new rate? I know what I'm worth, what the market will pay and what I'm willing to work for.
5) Why do I need you to help me develop my 'career'? I've been a contractor for years and I'm doing just fine on my own.

An agent that views the contractor as the client not the company that wants our talents is something most of us would kill for, but an agent that just markets us to other agents is of no use to anyone
Come back to us when you have "close ties with over 1000 companies" not 1000 agencies
Agreed!!! Just adding another layer into the supply chain doesn't help at all.
Also, without the right knowledge backgroud how would you best know how to market our skills?
In summary, they "prey" on the Antipodean Market. look at this for proof:
when i was in the planning stages to come to the UK, I responded to an advert similar to this one.
My experience with them:
An appointment was setup with a person named "Shirley" before I left for the UK.
When I get to the London, I found out that their offices were in zone 5 on the tube. I get to the offices and find anything but a professionaly run outfit.
The person I met with tried to sell me their "10 step plan" for 15% of my rate. But what I heard next was shocking. They said even if I find a contract by myself, I would still owe them 15% since they would have mentored me and taught me how to do a job search and brushed up my interview skills.
I asked them what were good jobsearch sites and they didn't tell me this. Gods sake, it doesn't take much to find out information like this. I already knew of jobserve but they wouldn't even disclose this.
Anyways, when I heard this I ran like the wind and luckily for me I never heard from then again. 4 days later I had my first UK contract.
What I also saw in their offices were 4-5 computers with "prey" looking for jobs, nothing different to what u see in an internet cafe. The fact that these guys were looking for jobs themselves was kinda crazy. So much for forwarding CVs to agencies.
Does your Mum know that you're running a business from your bedroom? She'd be disgusted to think that you were in the IT Employment racket - she probably just thinks you're in there browsing porn, the poor dear!
I dont know if anyone remembers Robert Lesters but they provided these services without charging the huge rates that you lot charge. Lesters thrived pre internet and were therefore quite useful to "wet behind the ears"

Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone
