That 15% would be out of your day rate not the agency's!!!

So with an agency on 20% plus these guys, if the client budgets for £400 per day; agency gets £80, these get £38 and you only get £272!!!

Well a reply was due, I hope that users will make an informed decision by looking through the website and services etc… rather then listing to people who have not even been in. Perhaps some have too much free time and could use our services in securing a proper job.

I invite you to actually get in touch and see what we do, ask if you don’t understand something … The original posting was made some years ago and things are changing all the time.

We value your opinions and do take on board any concerns; we want to make sure you understand how the complex contracting market works and what BITE does. There are lot of companies out there providing lots of different services and I would like to reiterate that we are not a recruitment agency – but work together with agencies to help our contractors get IT contract quickly at market rates.

please don't spam the board with advertising. thanks

          15% for 65 days only

          And contacting agencies, for 15%???

          You can not be serious!

I think there’s a huge misunderstanding with regard to fees. I completely understand why many of you have these concerns.

Firstly, we want to get you a job at market rate. 15% may sound a lot, but if you accept a low paying contract the money in your pocket is a lot less.

Secondly, the 15% is only for the first 65 days of your contract after which it drops. Just 5% if you want to use our umbrella company only.

The point of using BITE is that you get contracts at the right rate, for subsequent contracts we asses your skills, new work experience and advise you on your new rate. This sort of service helps contractors develop their careers. You also don’t pay any fees untill you get a contract. We won’t invite you for an interview if we don’t think we can help.

          EDIT: please see previous comments.

            ROFL,

So you in other words you take a chunk of money, we give you a CV, you chuck it at an agent and then when we finally get a job you take another chunk of the money.

Sounds just like the sort of thing that will add value to my company...

How did you decide on your name? Something to do with taking another "BITE" of the cherry??

You only pay us fees 1 time – when you get a contract.

We work on your CV and send it to agents as and when they REQUEST it. “Chucking” it at agents won’t help anyone. One of the reasons why many contractors are unsuccessful is because they don’t work together with agents properly. The contracting market is very different to permanent; many contractors want that extra level of support to really push forward which BITE can provide. We’ll tell you of your suitability for contracting and unfortunately can’t consider those with less then 2-3 year commercial experience. We work with professionals who want to learn and progress their careers you don't need any previous contracting experience.

              Other services we provide:

Umbrella Company, you can’t contract without one (or higher earners will want to use a limited company of their own), all sorts of insurance, credit control, CV service, interview training, wage assurance… Read website for more.

All contractors will pay fees twice:

Once to the agents and once for umbrella company/limited company

I hope this has clarified a few points for you,

              Regards
              BITE

PS: BITE = Better IT Employment.

                    1) are you saying you don't look for roles but wait until an agent contacts you first?

                    2) Why would we pay to use our own Ltd Co

                    3) What insurances are you offering?

                    4) I assume if thru your brolly, your fee covers sick pay, holiday pay, maternity pay etc?

Sounds like you want to act a bit more like an "agent" (akin to a footballer, actor agent) than current IT agents do, which is all well and good but as your are not cutting out one of the middle men (aka normal contracting agents) you are just offering a service that might reduce contract searching hassle by a small degree in exchange for complicating things by adding another party into the contract chain and the contractor losing another chunk of the pie

An agent that views the contractor as the client not the company that wants our talents is something most of us would kill for, but an agent that just markets us to other agents is of no use to anyone

Come back to us when you have "close ties with over 1000 companies" not 1000 agencies
