I get your point but I suspect you are looking at it from the wrong end. From the number of people finding it hard to find work, and the number of agents that just don't seem to have any roles available, your sector sounds like one of a vanishingly small number that is not on its knees.

My sector is so boring no one else will consider it.

Yup just checked, indeed the market in the UK is dead. Germany looks better. If I were looking I would go to Germany.

Become a plumber and charge £50 per hour including travel time etc.
