37.5 hours a week? Nice if you can get it, that part-time work.

Specifying number of hours per day...dangerous IR35-type stuff. Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? - EpicurusComment

Since living in CH, 8 hours days is the norm. ( not including lunch ). Nestlé had a 9 hour working day on their Globe project. I think that was just to cover how long it took the pc to boot up...
Fortunately, my current client isn't bothered about how long I'm in the office, so long as the work is done.

Banking client I work for used to be 40 hours minimum per week. They reduced it to 35 just over 12 months ago without loss of pay.
I've been on some jobs where I was on a daily rate. The normal day was expected to be 8 hours but when the PM said jump, she wanted 15 hour days and no extra. I said no and walked.
I know one colleague who worked on a job and was expected to work a minimum 40 hours pluse 4 hours a week for free!
TBH, if you've only ever had jobs that require 37.5, you cant have had many contracts or been very, very lucky.I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!Comment
