I would have said nobody insists on a 10% discount for the last 10 days of a contract unless they really are on a shoestring. Obvious bluff. But you know the lie of the land better than I.

well I do agree with the logic of people's comments on this...that they're just trying to save money..and stiffing me...
but if i can bag a couple of days at home....watching tv, spending time with the wife and get paid...albeit slightly less...i'll take it...Comment

:Originally posted by wantacontract View Postright, have taken the 10% cut...
spoke direct to the main boss...he tells me the agency is only on 10% commission of day rate....
so I decided to mull it over the weekend...
and negotiated with him about working from home on select dates for the next two weeks..so a couple of days working from home..
all agreed...
So much for this 'gonna front it out' business.
Didn't take much agent/client BS to make you buckle. So the agent was only getting 10%. He must have been satisfied with that, and now does he get 20% for the last 10 days?, or does the client get this xmas bonus. Either way, you've been flipped. You could have easily stood your ground and kept the £400 you've now given away.Comment

You should have maintained your rate and insisted on the working at home bit as well.Comment
