Sorry, On a serious note it this is true – you can go for constructive dismissal from your Permie role.

State you were told your role was to become redundant, and they offered you alternative employment in a contract role, which you felt pressured into taking, Since accepting this role has also been ‘made redundant’ and you feel this was a way out of not making you or your permie role officially redundant,

State you have notes of all discussions, meetings, emails concerning this fact and you are seeking advice for an Employment Law Solicitor. Most companies will settle out of court and if it does go to a tribunal a high percentage always win.

You may not get much as you were not in job very long – but there is satisfaction.

If true, what the company has done is not legal.

Take'em to the cleaners. You're definitely entitled to the full years pay and compensation. Because if you're not working, you yourself lose value for future clients. Let's face it a contractor who has not worked for a year is as useful as a lead balloon. Go back to th eclient office and stay there until they agree to pay the full year + 6 months additional redundancy.

There are tree things you could try:

                      1. Blackmail your boss into keeping you on.
                      2. Win the lottery, donate it to your company and tell them to keep you on.
                      3. Look for a notice period in your contract and hopefully there's one that says, "1 year".

                      As you were...
