I could tell you but I'd have to kill you.

And then force you into a 10% rate cut.

Well every second job on Jobserve wants SC at the moment, but then they're probably just as real as the non-SC roles

I've had about 12 calls so far about working for the Met Office in Exeter as a Unix (Solaris IIRC) SA. PM me if you want the details.

It is amazing how SC clearance is often seen as more important an asset than any particular technical skillset.

There is almost zero chance of a client clearing an experienced person in these times, they are much more likely to offer the role to someone less suitable who is cleared. It's as if provided you are cleared, the client believe you can turn your hand to anything.

I'm so smugly-glad that mine came through before the end of this gig - I wouldnt want to be searching the boards whilst filtering out the SC jobs - that would be a proper morale sapper...

No, EDS have quite a lot of the SC sites covered these days and since they've inherited a load of ex MoD civil service types through TUPE they're using them rather than contractors.

SC project are often bureaucratic, slow and liable to frequent change, so it doesn't really matter if you don't know what you're doing because you'll have plenty of time and opportunity to get up to speed.

they'll be the ones they've been making redundant then will they?

Probably not, TUPE rules mean they can't afford to make ex civil service people redundant ...unless they wait 2 years of course.

They’re trying to get some use out of them before they can get rid on EDS terms. i.e bare minimum.
