I've had it for the last 5 (just had it renewed before I was farmed off to a non SC site), It used to be useful but I'm finding the roles are pretty thin on the ground at the moment.

Again I think EDS is to blame for trying to get so many of its own people cleared.

I'm not sure what to do in my current gig, I've been here for a few months but I'm all too aware that my SC will expire unless I use it.

Probably not, TUPE rules mean they can't afford to make ex civil service people redundant ...unless they wait 2 years of course.

They’re trying to get some use out of them before they can get rid on EDS terms. i.e bare minimum.

SC project are often bureaucratic, slow and liable to frequent change, so it doesn't really matter if you don't know what you're doing because you'll have plenty of time and opportunity to get up to speed.

I'm so smugly-glad that mine came through before the end of this gig - I wouldnt want to be searching the boards whilst filtering out the SC jobs - that would be a proper morale sapper...

I've had about 12 calls so far about working for the Met Office in Exeter as a Unix (Solaris IIRC) SA. PM me if you want the details.

Well every second job on Jobserve wants SC at the moment, but then they're probably just as real as the non-SC roles

I could tell you but I'd have to kill you.

And then force you into a 10% rate cut.
