    New and Repeat Business

Has anyone found any repeat gigs by handing out business cards with their clients when a contract finishes? I'm thinking of getting some printed but I'm not sure its worth the hassle.

I also attend a few business networking events in my area and thought they may come in handy to source new clients.

Do any of you use business cards and whats been your success with them?

I have had one completely new contract from having my own business cards. It lasted 18 months and was extremely well paid. Also I enjoyed it very much.

The timing was perfect as I was coming out of contract at the end of Nov. Not lightly that I would have got another contract till the end of Jan.

So for me - Business cards have been paid for for the foreseeable future.

Zero direct benefit for me so far, however, when meeting with vendors on behalf of the client co it comes in handy to give your own Ltd Co card identifying you as a consultant rather than part and parcel of Client Co.

WHS with bells on. It's very satisfying to distinguish oneself from the drooling dolts that populate clientco

                Print them.

I have got repeat business. But it is more than that. You are building yourself as a brand and a business, and not just a temp employee.

Also a lot of people have asked for by business card when in general conversation.

The more contracts you can go direct, the better.

Yes, arising from handing out business cards, I've invoiced about £175k in further work over the last 24 months.
