    using logos on my website

    I'm touching up my website and thinking of adding a few logos highlighting the technology and clients I've worked with - eg java logos, a certain bank etc. etc.

    I'm aware there's probably a copyright issue by doing this but are there any standard disclaimers I can use on the website footer, eg

    "All product names and logos used throughout this website are trademarks of their respective owners".

    Probably worth getting the permission of your clients first. You never know, simply by asking they may write a recommendation you can add to your website...
    Older and ...well, just older!!

      Just do it. we do if they get arsey then just remove them. They wont have a clue if it is legitimate or not anyway. If you ask they will probably say no.

              I'm sure we have done this question before.

              I think the outcome was that it wasn't such a good idea because it can upset the copyright owners.
              How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

                HAB is right - the general feeling was that unless you have permission then do not do it and what are the chances of large organisation (after all would putting smaller organisiations logo's add that much clout to promotional stuff) saying yes are somewhere between slim and no chance

                  I preferred DA's answer. If you remove if/when asked there is unlikely to be any trouble.

                    Just do it. The only company I am aware of who actively hunt down inappropriate use of logo's etc is Harley Davidson. They are very aggressive litigators.
