    Agent issuing threat

Today an Agent called me and told that he had a position at (gave a name of a Giant), and wanted to know if I was actively looking and asked me to disclose the name of the clients where I had already applied.

I told him for confidentiality I do not discuss other Agency's roles. Then he asked me to tell him the Locations and the Sectors where I had already applied. I told I cannot disclose that.

The Agent then told, "If you don't disclose these details, you are never going to get a job. We have xx sister recruitment companies, I will tell them all that you are a difficult candidate to deal with"

Looking that he was calling from an undisclosed number, I asked him to send an Email with his contact details, so that I can reply to him by Email. He abruptly closed the conversation. I did not get any Email from him.

This is why he never managed to sell any double-glazing and had to move into recruitment instead

I have no doubt he was telling the truth and you are DOOMED

I am suprised you did not ask who he was and which agency he was at the start of the conversation.

        BrilloPad,

The Agent told he was from ".....IT" and gave a name. I am not sure if he was telling the truth about his identity (the call was from undisclosed number), so I asked him to send Email to me giving his contact details. I told him if he sent Email, I would reply with details he wanted. If he was an Agent conducting his business honestly why did he not send Email?

I get an impression that he was collecting resumes and wanted to approach clients (with these resumes) where the candidates had not already applied.

Best thing is just to keep a handy list of companies that have p***ed you off in the past - banks, double glazing salesmen, the jehovas witnesses, other agents - and reel off their contact details.

Clearly you were not dealing with a proper Recruitment Consultant but a complete T**t. These types of character's really annoy me, why can they not do things professionally and properly!!!! - ok rant over :-)

If he thinks he can place you tomorrow, he'll call you back. Obviously, he'll pretend to be someone else.

Next time you get a call from mumble at agency mumble ask them to repeat, so you can take a note.

Because they're under extreme pressure from their S3 bosses to get leads, and this was the fiftieth contractor from whom he got no cooperation. As you can imagine, my heart bleeds for them!

If you knew which agency he worked for you should have told him you're coming round the office to knock seven bells out of him.

                    That soon focuses the mind...
