Seriously. Define "nice" and what do you do.

If your looking for a £1000 p/d on a beach working from a laptop I think you'll find it hard. I've contracted abroad (as far as China) and trust me the 9-5 really takes the shine of the place. Its not a holiday and the same tulip that crops up here crops up there.

yea, appreciate its not a holiday... i'm not afriad of a bit of hard work.

but surely a bit of sun and maybe a beach beats going home in the plssin rain in Manchester every night???

project management / business analysis, mainly financial services.

fancy giving it a go for a few months, wouldn't do the cv any harm would it.

Still. If you could get a contract in LA, you might be able to take a walk along the beach before/after work. Sounds nice to me (the beach part, not LA itself especially).

If nice means good skiing, then try Switzerland during winter. Unless you do SAP, in which case go somewhere else.

Modis and RMIT are not bad (Payment 1 day after invoice received!). Hays and Elan operate in Switzerland too - their Swiss offices seem to be better than their UK counterparts. K2 is a fairly large player - but they'd be my last resort. Read any contract with K2 very very carefully - they like to prevent you from working in CH through anyone else.

But when I talked to them about this when negotiating my contract they deleted it without a problem.

They seem to go for the approach of trying to get a lot into the contracts and if the contractor does not protest then fine but if you protest a bit then they easily give in. I hate that approach. And I enjoyed getting my next contract via a different agency.

If you think you're hard done by, then take this.

I have to pay a large % of my contract income to the same agency for the rest of my life, until death in fact, as long as I remain in the UK.

                    previous agency is your ex-wife?

Or how do you end up in a situation of paying life long fees to an agency?
