Current favourite site for posting a CV?

What's the current favourite job site for posting your CV on to see what's occurring? Any of these:

    Jobserve
    CWJobs
    JobSite
    ITJobBoard
    TotalJobs

I was also thinking of omitting my current employer's name from my CV, but then thought this can be found on other sites (linkedin, etc) with a little searching. Or are agents not that resourceful?

You have an employer? How quaint...

I used to exclusively use Jobserve but last time, I tried Monster and got quite a few unsolicited calls, one of which resulted in the current gig.

It was a real pain to sign up though, IIRC.

Ah. That explains the dumb question then.

Catch-22 - stick the CV up and get 400 calls about stuff of no use or interest (someone offered me £18 ph for front-line support the other day - and then emailed again to say they'd mixed up two roles and it shoud be £13ph...), or don't stick it up and perhaps miss out on something good.

Personally, I chase specific roles with a specific CV. Others may disagree.

That's something I'm attempting to do, but roles for my main marketable skill are a little thin at the moment. I was wondering what else would come up if I widened my search a little.

              My last two contracts were
              1) call from an agent I'd never heard of from having my cv on cwjobs
              2) from direct email en-spec to a company

4 out of the 5 contracts I've had have came from an agent spotting my CV on a job board, I'm of the opinion that they won't pay to advertise a role if they can fill it by searching a few CV's.

Almost all the calls I get are from agents who have seen my CV on either CW or Jobserve, not that I’ve had many calls recently.

I used to put the CV up by got bored of the "I have a permie role 500 miles from where you live at 20% of your current take home" phone calls.

                    Mass-mailing

You shouldn't post your CV on any of the above sites. Not if it is a good one. It's like mass-mailing, it doesn't work. You'll end up with people picking, copying and pasting bits of it to others'. Lots of unsolicited phonecalls and e-mails. You should respond to specific advertised positions or tailor-made to your skills e-mails/calls from agents.
