I finished a contract last Friday.
Had an interview on Monday.
Start the gig on Thursday.

And Friday and Saturday,
Chilled on Sunday.

How ironic - I was thinking about trying Oz (or preferably NZ) - I decided to leave the permie world in the summer and tried like crazy to get a gig to no avail. I'd pretty much resigned myself to being a prisoner of the dilbert style of management - then finally got a gig in December - then got offered two better ones since . I guess the truth is you just can't tell!
