    can anyone recommend any good books for an introduction into business analysis?

          BCS do a basic book which covers most things at a very high level.

          Read up on some requirements gathering and development methodologies as well.

          The problem with BA work is that it can cover almost anything and it you ask 10 people what a BA does you will probably get 7 different answers at the very least

            Aim for the ISEB BA Diploma.

              Seconded - but it will take a little longer to complete than the introduction that the OP suggested they wanted.

              It took me two years but then my (permie) employer at the time did not like stumping up the cash to send me on the courses.

                I'm paying for it myself but work is getting in the way at the 'mo...

                I did the Req. Eng. in March but still need to to do System/Business Modelling, then there's the interview...

                  Forgive me for stating the bleedin' obvious, but wouldn't an ability to do your own research be a good starter for 10?
