    Project Management Agencies

    Hi all,

I'm sick of these general agencies who try and get me in for a J2EE developer role even though it clearly says on my CV that I have managed development projects and not did the actual development!

In any case, can anyone recommend a good project management agency I can join?

    Thanks,

    P

    Practicus

Practicus - I was with them on my last gig. Their contracts are PCG contracts, so a real bonus.

Will check them out, cheers. Surely there must be more though... I'll do some digging.

There ought to be way more than this. I'll do some digging too.

My understanding from working with Practicus is that there are not many ture companies purely specialising in project management recruitment in the UK, you will often find 1-2 consultants per large/generic agency providing these services.

                Practicis ok?

Are practicus legit? Just worried as they changed the rate on my contract the day before it was due to start.

You should have the rate in your contract. If they changed the rate it means they've changed your previously ageed contract, which they can't do with your agreement to the change.

If they tried to pull this trick on me I would tell them to forget it and not start work the next day, as in my book this change makes the contract void.

Tell them you WILL start work as per the agreed contract.

(I would also try to get word to the client why I won't be starting tomorrow.)

Maybe it's a test... If a project manager won't defend his own day rate, what's he going to be like if a client's supplier starts messing around mid-project?
