    Alternative Umbrella Co. to Prosperity4 ?

    Does anybody know an alternative Umbrella company with the same benefits as prosperity4 and that’s been about for a few years.
    What I mean by benefits is:

    Non receipt able expenses per day of
    Hotel-ing in London for a week £95 per night
    Evening Meal £11
    Mileage readings £40 approx
    Lunch £7
    Personal Expenses £5

    Oh dear

    There is no such thing as a non-receiptable expense. You must be able to account for all expenses you made.

          You'd best hope that you don't get an expenses audit (they're not that uncommon - see http://forums.contractoruk.com/gener...light=expenses for example). If you do and you don't have your receipts for ALL of your expenses then the taxman is going to rip you a new one...

              Definitely not!

              Every time I called prosperity 4 about this they say that the get 'special' allowances, hence the 6% charge. Even when you fill in their on line expense form, when you’re automatically redirected to the receipts form at the end, to 'check box' what receipts to send them, it ignores all hotel/car/daily expenses but includes the list for phone calls or flights/ trains etc.

              Wouldn’t like to praise P4 but wouldn’t mind if some other P4 contractor came online and agreed with this.....

                Sorry Pateen but these are not 'benefits', they are just some of the expenses that P4 had included in their dispensation. A dispensation is given to umbrella companies by the Inland Revenue purely to alleviate them from vast amounts of form filling - it does not denote the expenses that their contractors can claim. The dispensation does not mean that you do not have to have receipts and it does not mean that you can claim for expenses that you haven't incurred. As others here have said - if HMR&C come calling you really could find yourself in trouble if you have claimed this level of unreceipted expenditure on a regular basis

                    You do have receipts for any expenses incurred, right?

                    Imagine if one decided to max these "benefits" out, without actually incurring the expenses.

                    They'd be looking at £30; tax free.

                    What's BIK 40%? -> 12K. yikes.
