    Experis

Anybody had any experience with this agency?

Had an interview via them, very lazy agent. Never called me, everything done via email. Emailed agent to ask for feedback. He said he was on the phone to client and they would like to offer me the role. That was Wednesday afternoon. Didn't hear anything Thursday so emailed him for an update. Doesn't respond to emails at all now. But the worse thing is, when I call his direct dial number it's always 'user busy'. So rang Experis Manchester number and always says number is switched off.

Guessing the role has been cancelled for whatever reason. Which ok fair enough, it happens. But it takes two minutes to either call or email to say so. The fact that you cannot phone them is even worse. Really appalled by their behaviour. So much so that first agency I am blacklisting in 25 years of contracting.

This is the general case these days I'm afraid.

Reality is there is very little comeuppance for bad 'customer service' in regards to recruitment, yes yes the candidate isn't the customer.

It's hilarious seeing agents spouting bulltulip on LinkedIn about mindfulness, treating people with respect, holding candidates hands through the stressful process, when many of those same agents have completely ghosted me in the past.

          ^^ This.

Recruitment is all bollocks... but, I wouldn't want to do their job having seen the turnover in recruitment agents across many different agencies in recent months.

I've seen a lot of recruiters on my Linkedin being let go, which to me is a really bad sign, especially when it's more low level grunts who aren't out there trying to find clients.

Recruiters and estate agents are going to get absolutely hammered over the next 12 months.

Honestly I have no idea how they all lack shame with what they post. I hurt my face cringing just reading some of it, let alone if I had to put my face and name to it.

I'm applying like mad at the minute and it's certainly changed since I was last on the market two years ago. Back in the day the agent usually had their contact details on the adverts and you could just ring them, get them interested and Boom. Failing that ring the office they work at and ask for them. Was pretty easy to get hold of the person with the role. Now it's virtually impossible. One agent doesn't even have a telephone number on their website. No way of calling them at all. Very weird. Linked in connection is about the only way to get hold of them and most of them never accepted as they've 1000's of contacts already. Everything is fire and forget.

Speaking to a few that have contacted me in the last day they say it's a nightmare with all the chancers. Taking them forever to find decent candidates in the noise so I can kind of understand why they don't have the time or don't want to do it all by phone like the old days.

That said, behing ghosted after interview or initial conversation has always been the way. We've been saying forever that if an agent wants you they'll be all over you. If they don't then you won't hear from them so you've all the feedback you need. Chasing an agent has never ever changed an outcome. You'll come to the same end result, positive or negative regardless.

Spoke to a recruiter yesterday, he mentioned that he has had to 'lock things down' in that regard because he gets absolutely swamped with messages/calls. He only accepts/adds people on Linkedin (needed to message) if they pass the sniff test. Low and behold, look at his posts on linkedin about a new role and there are dozens of 'I'm interested!', half of which aren't even in the country.

I did have to borrow a phone to ring my mobile to make sure it was still working the other week because was literally getting nothing.

Think reality is we are going to have to be a lot more forceful in getting agents on the phone so we can ensure they have at least looked at our CV.

Yup. It's changed days. The kiddies now have the field and it's pretty pointless trying to change the game.
