    timesheets from agency AND FROM middle-man - IR35?

    Hi all,

    Couldn't find a reference to this one out there,

    Me and my ltd are in a contract through agency, outside IR35. I submit my weekly timesheets to the agency and once a month we do the usual invoice dance.
    Now this project I am currently on, my agency has a contract with a consultancy, which then has a contract with the end client.

    [ltd] <- contract -> [ agency ] -> consultancy -> client.

    I so far haven't had any contact with the consultancy and I am working directly with the end client. Today I got a request from the consultancy to submit timesheets weekly, these are in addition to the ones I already submit to my agency.

    I google this up and wasn't clear if this would affect my IR35 status?

    is it OK to submit these timesheets asked by the consultancy?
    or would it place me in a weird IR35 place?

    thanks

    Timesheets aren't an issue for IR35. Everyone has to prove what they have done and then get paid for it whatever their payment vehicle. And if it does affect your IR35 the only person that needs to worry about it is the party that issued the SDS declaring it outside.

    I'd imagine the timesheets for the consultancy are so they can bill their client and anyone working on that regardless of employment/tax position would have to do it.

      Nothing to do with IR35 it is to do with your agency, consultancy and client budgets.

      They all need to know how many hours/days you have spent working on the project so every single one of them can ask you for a timesheet.

      Just do them all on the same day in the week and make sure they match exactly.

          Software - enter in both systems.

          Paper - 1 lot of signatures but fill in both sets of paperwork and let one of them handle the pain....
