I’ve worked through them many years ago and they were ok too. I have had an agent try and do the same though, offer a lower rate after getting the gig (I try and confirm the rate in writing before going ahead these days). In that case I really wanted the gig, and the reduction was bearable (tried negotiating but they weren’t having it), and it was only 3 months so accepted. When the renewal came up I negotiated a larger rate, much larger than they’d originally cost me. Might not always work this way though but did for me on this occasion, so worth bearing in mind.
