There are many. When I get calls from the ones in their "last breath" to pretend they are trying, I just lend them my ears. I tend to be sympathetic, empathise and ask questions on how they generally short list candidates etc :-) -
An agent rang me once saying a person at my company had recommended me. I asked who. He was adamant he couldn't reveal. I cordially said that I'd be more willing to comply if he was honest about what he wanted and that there was no recommendation. He hung up.Comment

Can be a very lucrative business, I'm amazed that so few IT contractors don't want to become specialist recruitment agents.Originally posted by ladymuck View PostMost of the entries on LinkedIn and job boards are posted by .... recruiters!Comment

Most contractors I know don't have agents on their LinkedIn connections, as they just used your contacts for phishing.Comment

Surely: "so many" or "contractors want to"?Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostCan be a very lucrative business, I'm amazed that so few IT contractors don't want to become specialist recruitment agents.Comment

Suddenly see a flurry of these as well, as the furlough schemes come to an end they all are being made redundant. I un-connect them immediately, what's the use of a jobless recruiter in your connections list filling up your timeline with their stories how "well" they are copingOriginally posted by ContractorHardman View PostOn LinkedIn, I am seeing a lot of recruiters getting made redundant from their roles.
