I mentioned it but only as background as many people here would know it any way. As I said if I my purpose was to advertise I then I would have done it when it was up and not down.

The Forum is still down and the site not updating so my purpose is to find out how I can beat this hacker as he has done it before.

My host is working on it but if he is just going to get the PHP-nuke version back up it may be suseptible to hacking again according to the advice that I have got here so that is useful.

My host is looking at alternatives like .asp but I wanted advice from a knowledgeable audience and I thought this would be as good a place as any to get it.

I don't mind that the site name has been removed as it is not that important to what I'm asking for and was only background info.

Hold on Mr Admin - you're new around here, aren't you. (And if it's you James, you forget regulars v. quickly).

This is Gerry/FromtheUSA/NamesFacesPlaces and is a (very) old contributer to this forum.

We know which site he owns, he's just asking for help. Cut him a bit of slack (maybe you could have placed this in Technical tho', G.).

Perhaps I should have put it there but as the one who suggested this Business Forum in the first place (which was acted on) I probably thought it was the place to ask the questions.

Normally those that try and flog their sites on Forums this are those with new sites but I pay good money for a company with expertise in Search Engine Optimisations and in creating links which is a much better way to get traffic than sticking something on a Forum.

I do have a genuine problem. I appear to have someone unknown who has been try to f**k me up for a very long time. Why, I don't know, but there are some strange people around. It's just been a bit of a nuisance before but now it's become more than that.

I'd like to both make my site attack proof and to nail the b*****d who is doing it.

He doesn't appear to be able to attack my other site perhaps because it is bespoke software but from my SE info I can see that he has been trying to report it for abuse etc. (which is a bit of a joke after his horse porn attacks on the site which has been hacked).

He has been posting derogatory comments on my other site in the Article Comments but I took the policy of quietly deleting them.

Perhaps I need a psychological profile of the type of person who does this. It's not nice to have someone you don't know spending a great deal of their time trying to screw you up for no reason that you can see.

I did rid the site of the BNP racists when I bought it and perhaps it is one of those but I don't know.

At one point he kept posting my name and address on the site which he must have taken a bit of time to find out.

One hesitates to give the guy publicity as I suspect that is what they thrive on.

Before I made the Forum members only I had two contacts at different times from the Internet Police asking for my help in tracking someone who was causing problems for other people both via my site and via post and email.

One of the guys who he targeted was so afraid he put up all sorts of security at his house including lights which came on when someone came near his house.

I helped the Internet Police as much as I could and put on my Forum that I had done so. However he is an arrogant b*****d and boasted that he couldn't be caught (he spoofs his IP addresses).

However, they couldn't catch him (he taunts me every so often about this) and now he looks as if he is concentrating his efforts in screwing me up.

          Any suggestions would be welcome.

This is NOT a publicty stunt.

If I have became intimidated by some spotty techie geek who threatened me on the web then it's time to give up my hard guy mantle.

He's not the one who has been pursued previously (both of those were agents) by the hacker but yes, Lindsey is trying to fix it.

Indeed, CUK. You get the best free content in the field here on these forums, mainly because we all come here and think of it as "our" place. Such gross rudeness to an old and affectionately respected contributor is quite out of order. Might even drive people away to other sites (and indeed we can find Gerry's site ourselves thank you).

Now ban me for not showing respect.

It looks like the hacker with the vendetta has won and we will have to rewrite the site.
