    Contract vs perm offer?

    Hi all,

Currently on £420 day (9 to 6pm) in a BAU Role, which I've been doing for 6 months and I may get another year out of it, but there's already talk of me being too expensive.

Not many contracts in the type of work I do, so no chance of getting another gig like this.

I've just been offered perm role in similar role, with long term prospects, and with people I’ve worked with before. spec as follows

    • 60k basic
    • 10.5% pension
    • 18/20% Bonus
    • 25 days holidays
    • £300 a month share scheme if I pay in £150
    • Usual Medical and Dental
    • Free canteen, apparently v good food. (Breakfast and Lunch provided)
    • work from home one day a week when it’s not Quarter end
    • 9 to 5pm

Worth jumping ship with IR35 for private sector on the way?

I thought you'd already taken the leap?

Maybe should have taken more note of post number 3 so we don't have to go through all this again. A bunch of random peoples opinions on a situation they know nothing about on behalf of the someone else. Hope that isn't what you are going to use as a basis for a decision about your future.

Basically, do the opposite of what NLUK says.

Peoples experience with similar choices they have themselves made may aid you in making your decision. Good luck.

Surely the ones that went perm won't be on the forums any more so he's going to get a very one sided view?

Either way maybe a search will help.. Play around with the keywords but stuff like this should help.

thought I'd stick more to the facts as the responses were so random, but point taken.

Well my status in the other thread stands and on top of that I'd say..

Not many contracts in the type of work I do, so no chance of getting another gig like this.
That seals it for me. Take the perm.

I think that is a pretty good perm offer. I would take it.

Does sound like a reasonable offer. If there is any chance of progression/ skills training I would suggest going for it.
