    Vacancy merry go round

I've been on the bench for a while now and have seen many ads pass by for roles in project and programme management. It is interesting to see how many come around a few months later, some purporting to be urgent and needing immediate intervention. Is this just another form of CV harvesting?

Come on, you dont think agents sit on their arses all day in a depressed market do you?

      Yes, or
Numpties were hired and then fired, or
      Budgets were cut then reinstated

Or someone accepted the offer and pulled off, or didn't pass background checks etc.

Another recent trend which has affected me personally is the role is urgent blah blah blah says the agency...then low & behold someone is on holiday until after Easter, others are off sick so no interviews possible, pre Easter hiring freeze or a combo of these reasons.

More often than not agencies jump the gun & try to harvest cv's for roles they know are going to be live sooner or later but just palm you off with their excuses playbook.

Well, I can say from recent experience that all of the above is true - but there's also the times when an advert is taken down because the agent assumes the contractor will take the offer a client has given them - only for them to take another offer OR are not able to come to an contract agreement with the agency.

Clients also sometimes switch agency, or add new ones to their PSL.

No, they fake cvs, job openings and try and get two vacancies out of any contractor green enough to give them. That's on the presumption that they've already sold both their grandmas.

                  That was my point.
