Lorien contracts and IR35 at a well known bank.

    Disclaimer - I'm not a contractor anymore.

I have two new contractors starting, through Lorien, both of whom are asking if Lorien contracts (with a well known Bank) are IR35 compliant. I've pointed them at QDOS.

In the meantime, does anyone have any experience of Lorien contracts? Are they IR35 aware? Will I be facing future battles to secure Contractors who are more IR35 aware?

Legal, just roll their eyes and mutter HMRC, w**k*rs, worse than Putin, no idea of the law etc., then tell me that Contractors have no right as employees etc. and I should stop worrying. It's not my worries I'm worried about, it's contractors who choose not to sign on the basis of useless contracts. We're f***ed without contractors.

The contractors are asking you (the client) if the contracts are IR35 friendly? Lol.

You did the right thing point towards QDOS but they should know this themselves!

And yes People are becoming more IR35 aware therefore more contractors kicking up stinks over contract wording. But if the roles are really outside IR35. It won’t be a problem.

I need contractors, I don't need permies and if a prospective contractor asks me a question I generally answer the question - if I can.

If there's a problem with contracts then I will go and kick the Agency or route them via another supplier.

I repeat again - why is this your problem ?

The contractors need to get an ipse or qdos review on their contracts in a business to Business type reviews

The biggest IR35 indicator would be the end client (you) doing permie like function (asking permie question like your one on boards like here) - you are doing them Negitive favours here

          Step back big man

Cheers. That appears to be the case.

Which (I suspect) is more important. Is there a crib sheet for that? May choose to circulate to hiring managers...
