PRO IV, now there’s one I’m not sorry to see the back of..."why ride a vespa when you can push a lambretta?"
As I look ahead, I am filled with foreboding; like the Roman, I seem to see "the River Tiber foaming with much blood."Comment

Anyone remember Mapper on the Sperry-Univac's from the 70's to mid 80's ?
I won a worldwide competition run by Sperry-Univac for Mapper RID design in 82 or 83... got an all expensed weekend for my wife and me.. happy days.
As to COBOL, my default error trap logic was "If Cat equals Dog goto RSPCA" we were only allowed one goto in a program...and I used to rename my Working Storage to execute the test

That is probably because it was called GITIM until shortly before then.Originally posted by cojak View PostI embedded my comments well, but as per my first post, the organisations I worked with in the 80s and early 90s didn’t make good coding practices mandatory, in fact it wasn’t until 2002 I’d even heard about this ITIL thing.Comment
