Anyone worked for the Home Office recently?

What are they like for working from home?
Contracting is like plumbing. You're your own boss until you walk into someone's house and they tell you to take your shoes off.

Was with HO a few months back and they were ok with 1-2 days working from home, as long as PM was ok with it. Nearly everyone in the team spent a day or so working from home.

No, but I've worked from my home office. Naked. In this heat, it's incredibly liberating.

        Thanks for asking.

The Home Office UK in Marsham Street, Victoria, Westminster, London is a Security Check (SC) site. So you will need escorting around and in and out of the building if haven't been SC cleared yet.

I had no idea that they now know allow staff and also including contractors to WFH, when did that start?

They hired a lot of big name consultancies, who hired independent contractors or employees thereof*, who did Bring-Your-Own-Device in work (BYOD). Has that changed since my time?

Also this is public sector, and since 6th April this year, you will be under the Off-Payroll Worker rules. How are you handling that?

*ATOS, Capita, Equal Experts, etc, I'm looking at you.
