Physio Expenses - claimable?

Last time I was at the physios they 'specifically' attributed my condition to what I do for a living so I'm afraid I'll have to take their word for it fellow northerner chap. I'll see what they say this time around, i.e lunchtime today.

I would have thought it more around your workplace than your job title but get it in writing from them. Not sure the physio's opinion relates that closely to tax law but it's a start.

Interesting example of a violinist needing it to help hold the violin but not perceivable personal benefit.

Maybe you need to get an occupational therapist to check your working environment. If your "condition" is due to the seat/desk/type of keyboard/mouse, then you might need to invest in new office equipment.

Just got back from the physio. Same as last time - pelvis alignment, etc, - man wasn't made to be sat at a desk all day, get off your backside and do some exercise.

Irrespective of who's paying the bill, it's worth every penny I can assure you!

If you claim, it will also certainly be disallowed if investigated, and they will crawl over your accounts in minute detail.

The reality of finding out one's issues are 'curable' and in a relatively short period of time seem to have overshadowed who's paying the bill. Back of my mind I was worrying that maybe I needed some hip-replacements. Guess I can use the funds to buy a pair of implants for the missus.

are there certain types of business that would allow that to be reclaimable? (and would you want your missus to be in them!)

Back when I was a permie, we had a guy who did desk assessments and recommended specialist equipment (chairs/desks etc). He also provided physio sessions if you had persistent problems or had to take time off due to it.

My wife (who also worked there) used this service after having carpal tunnel syndrome and back problems. She didn't have to pay any BIK.
