Take the extension unless the work is going to start getting boring.

What would you do? I'm leaning towards turning down the extension - easter is shorter than the summer break and is usually when shiny new budgets are burning a hole in people's pockets.

You don't have any other offer in hand and you have doubts about your extension. Are you kidding!

It you like the work, extend. If you don't like the work, leave. I would not base the decision on whether people you don't know in companies you aren't clear about might be taking holiday or not.

Take the extension, maintain the relationship. Could get another six weeks or more in July, no matter how slim. Slim is better than none.
