If you've never been to Cumbria it's very beautiful, and very wet (it's called the lake district rather than the crater district).

I also worked at VSEL in the 80s, well three months as an apprentice! Bleak. Lake District is beautiful but Barrow! Enjoy!

Spent a while there last year, its in the arse end of no where, driving is the best bet, some go by train but as there are a lot of contractors on the site there is a mass exodus on a Thursday (Friday is a lunch time finish so most do the 5 days over 4).
