    Daily Commute by Taxi

My potential client is on some god awful business park about 3 miles the wrong side of Swindon.

A horrible drive, in other words.

The train seems a good option but I need to get from the station to the client which would mean booking a cab to take me to and from the client's site.

Anyone done this over a period of time? I can't help feeling there's too much potential for no-shows because of driver calling in sick etc.

Maybe one of those fold up bikes. With a motor....

If you get a bike what are you going to do when it rains, hails or snows?

Some people aren't bothered by that others are.

            WHS.

I did this a few times working in Southampton. Train, then taxi to the client. In the afternoon I'd get the bus back to the station. But I mostly opted to drive as it was simply too much hassle, especially because it ended up adding about an hour and a half to my day.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

I have to be in my overalls to clock in at 8 am on the dot.

I can't afford to have to wait.

                SDC...

Only you know whether you can rely on train + taxi or whether taking your own car and the daily traffic lottery would be more or less reliable than this.

                    Then drive.

You can then work out the timings.
