As per the terms your contract allow I expect so nothing wrong so far.

No you can't. You didn't work it so you didn't lost it. The courts always favour the person that can demonstrate loss. The client will have to pay for nothing so have a better case. Forgetting that though the contract gives them the opportunity to can you immediately so the notice period is irrelevant. You were not in a position to invoke it so you can't get paid for it.

Not a leg to stand on. You've been canned quite correctly as per the terms of the contract. That's it. End of. Time to move on.

It's natural to feel disappointed and I know whatever the reasons I ever get canned I'll take it personally but legally it has been done properly so nothing else to do.
