Hi guys. Long time no see!

How's the market? Are Outside IR35 contracts still around?
I am being charged £7.50 every month for my busines bank account which hasn't seen a penny in for years!

I've always preferred overseas clients, but I don't bother with UK clients anymore.
I no longer contract at London banks for that very reason. Fortunately I have an overseas client with no UK presence so the old rules still apply for me, and invoicing in their currency has been an added bonus the last couple of years.

Why are you paying for business banking? Never have done. Plenty of free options.

I started work for ICL in Oct 2000. There was a guy there who was on £100ph + VAT + overtime. He genuinely would not go home and he was also not particularly good.

In all honesty, I have never seen that rate again for developers.

What a waste of bloody time, at least get the facts right ffs I hate it as you prep for the interview and then it turns out the ad is a lie.

The market is so good for me that I plan to move back to Europe if I don't find something soon because I don't see the point of looking under those conditions.

After all, I can find a permanent job anywhere; it doesn't necessarily have to be in London.

I'm happy for those of you who have secured contracts near the holidays. That's a real accomplishment.

I'm not implying the option of going there is better market-wise, but again, I'll be with my family, and I can decide my next move. I did the same during the pandemic for a few months.
