Seen these rates for most public sector contracts in Scotland for the last 12 months or so.

Both Scottish government and also all the small satellite agencies.

My £600 a day from a couple of years ago at SG for doing feck all is a just a faded memory now

Current gig are leaving it late to sort out a renewal however have sent out a email making it clear rates are being reviewed in light of contractors now having no travel and subsistence costs.

I am sure they will pass on the savings to their customers, so find solace in that.

They are paying you a rate for your skillset, not to cover travel... client extracting piss as a result of covid shocker.

EDIT: Since not clear, anything is better than nothing in this market. If a client wanted me to take a rate cut when doing same work - travel, subsistence none of their business - I'd only sign a short term contract and bail when market picks up.

That's very low these days. Most of the jobs I see on LI have 200-500 applications, sometimes 1000 plus.
