Things have very quickly taken a turn for the better; it almost feels like the good old days again (except for the pay scales). So the current fixed-term employment contract I'm on is about to end in 5 weeks. It's been the lowest pay I've ever accepted in decades, but pandemics are pandemics, so I was grateful not to have to dip into my warchest. Up until about two weeks ago, I was pretty worried the market was tanked as I was getting barely a nibble on my CV. Then .. all of a sudden I got 3 promising leads followed by three interviews followed by two offers and now my current employer wants to keep me on indefinitely at a substantially higher salary. I actually have to make a decision by the middle of next week - and I'm still getting calls. To be clear, none of these jobs offer a salary I would have accepted pre-Covid, but they're pretty close.
I don't know what you all are experiencing, but it looks like the market is waking up suddenly. For all of you out there worried than things seems too quiet - all I can say is keep chipping away, everything could change in a week.Comment

Have to admit, last week was the most positive I'd seen in a while for roles in my sector (still the few annoying FTC roles listed as contract).
Even had an interview yesterday on same rate as last one and 99% WFH so fingers crossed.
qhHe had a negative bluety on a quackhandle and was quadraspazzed on a lifeglug.
I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.
